If he wants to win, he needs to be coached. All players need to be coached. So, winning. That's the motivation. The fracturing this season certainly hasn't led to success on the field.
You're right. There is no guarantee at all. There's risk with every change.
True. Aaron Rodgers has had glowing remarks for Mike Pettine. I also think the pitch to keep Pettine as DC could be made as such: this is a place you can win a Super Bowl, you've already started improving the defense and can see that effort through, and if you win here and improve the D nothing builds your future HC resume better than that. A little pay raise probably wouldn't hurt either.
Jim Harbaugh. John Harbaugh. Pat Fitzgerald. Pete Carmichael. Just to name a few. I think it will be interesting to hear how Mark Murphy outlines his preferred qualities for the next head coach.
Aaron Rodgers. David Bakhtiari. Davante Adams. Aaron Jones. Jaire Alexander. Kenny Clark. Mike Daniels.
Are they really that high? I didn't realize. No, I don't think they would do that now, even though they do have a pair of first-round picks. They have too many needs elsewhere on their roster, and a need to win now.
I don't think anything will ever surpass 2014, because of the newness of it all. It was very exciting for me. But the past year has been interesting too. That's one of the great things about my job, there's always something to keep my interest.
We'll certainly ask Mark Murphy today.
I don't see Alex Van Pelt being brought back. I think a new coach would be concerned AVP's relationship with Rodgers would undercut his authority.
I would go offense, the best fit with QB relationally and scheme. If that's college, so be it.
Sure, but then how many offenses have an MVP quarterback, No. 1 receiver, franchise left tackle and dynamic running back? Fact is, the offense definitely had the pieces to be much, much better than it was this season.
I wouldn't rule that out. Certainly more possible than their first pick.
Really good. He plays the wrong position to be a star.
I'm not sure, but I would think he'd pull from Jed Hughes again. That has been his way.
