Hello diehard #Packers fans who are tuning into the blog despite the start of the Brewers game.
In case you hadn't heard, WRs Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison are both inactive because of hamstring injuries. Also out is rookie Jaire Alexander, who is nursing a groin injury.
Sounds like the Packers are taking no chances that any of them carry their injuries past the bye week, especially with cold weather making it a little more difficult to stay stretched out.
It's a nice, crisp night for football here at Lambeau Field. It's going to be a test of both teams' ability to keep their hands warm and hang onto the ball. The Packers haven't been doing a very good job of that the past couple of games.
Should be another test of the rookie wide receivers. I expect to see a lot of Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown. I don't think J'Mon Moore has earned the trust of Rodgers as much as the other two, but we'll see.
And if this isn't a good night to try to get Aaron Jones the ball, I don't know what it is. Should be a good opportunity for McCarthy to get the run game going. The 49ers rank 7th in run defense, so it won't necessarily be easy, but their pass defense has been uneven and they may play the pass tonight.
Are you guys submitting posts? Please let me know on Twitter so I can see if something is wrong.
There we go, now you guys are here!!
I think it's Bell and McCray would move to guard.
He injured his ankle in practice on Friday and is inactive.
Richard Sherman has been pretty solid, but they've been very inconsistent and there are some yards to be gained. They only have three takeaways all year and the pass rush hasn't been very good, so there should be some passing opportunities.
Milwaukee season ticket holders.
Good point. It is second and fifth.
Yes, I would absolutely think so.
If they don't I'll have to write another column.
Get that run game established and then work the play-action on offense. Make Beathard think about coverages. Lots of disguises and blitzes.
If they're going to get after someone the 49ers would be it. Their offensive line has been very shaky.
Probably not, but it depends on how the defense plays. They could contribute some points. I do think they could hit 37 though.
