If he gets cut. He's got a $6.5 million cap number, so they're not going to trade for him.
Ento pulled a hamstring in practice and never played in a game. But he was having a great camp and he would have been in the mix. He's a college wide receiver making the transition to CB, so there's a lot of upside.
I am communicating with sources and so is our crack team of Jim, Ryan and Olivia.
There's administrative work that has to be done, exit physicals in some cases. Paperwork that has to be filled out, plane reservations made. With the guys who aren't coming back on practice squad, it doesn't make sense to string them along.
No, I believe my former boss, Mike Davis, came up with it.
They like to wait until the last second on guys they really want back. Some teams wait so the guy has a hard time getting a flight out of town. That way they can come over as soon as he has cleared waivers and sign him to the practice squad. They don't want the guy leaving town if there's going to be competition for him.
That's an excellent point.
He has a knee injury. I suspect it's a torn ACL. He was supposed to have another scan yesterday but I haven't heard any of the results.
Yes, that's possible. They could put ESB on IR now, but I don't think it's necessary. I think they can carry both on the 53 and then sign someone else after they put ESB on IR.
He's definitely a practice squad addition. He's a Div II guy who needs some more time to get used to the NFL. They're pretty stacked at OLB, so I would be surprised if he made the 53. But he did look good.
Yes and yes. They either have to negotiate a settlement or they have to let the guy stick around and rehab at the facility until he's healthy. Any money spent goes against the cap.
That last answer was for you Charlie.
