Welcome everyone, I'm live from Oakland-Alameda Coliseum where about half the seats are full but it is an exhibition game.
Breaking news for you all, ILB Oren Burks injured his shoulder in pre-game warm-ups and won't play. My understanding is that early diagnosis is a dislocated shoulder, but we'll have to see what McCarthy says after the game.
That is really bad news for the Packers. Burks was in line to start against the Bears. Now, we'll see. He'll likely be missing the last two exhibition games and GM Brian Gutekunst may be in the market for a veteran very soon.
Not necessarily. It depends on how bad it was. Sometimes a player can go with a brace on after a short recovery period. We'll have to see.
Sorry, I was gone so long. That was a long list to type. If there's no injury next to the guy's name it means he's just being rested.
Because they're not very good at receiver.
No Mike Daniels, but you'll see everyone else.
Well, now the ILBs with Burks out.
That is certainly an option. I would think they'd have to consider that.
As I said earlier, it's not confirmed it's a dislocated shoulder, but it's suspected. Might not be that long.
Aaron Jones is active and will play.
Zilch. As I wrote today, there are no tackles out there for Gutekunst to get. The well dried up a long time ago.
The good news on Owen Burks is that he's not wearing a sling. But we all know you can't make a diagnosis from the press box.
Running game and the tackles. I really want to see Aaron Jones.
Of course! Biggest blog day of the year.
Former Packers GM Ron Wolf is here to light the torch in the corner of the stadium tonight. Talked to him for awhile on the sideline. Looks great.
WR Jordy Nelson is not one of the captains for the Raiders tonight.
Packers captains are Montgomery, Goodson and Clark.
Packers call heads. It's tails and Oakland will receive.
I didn't want to be a buzzkill.
OK, let's get ready for the kickoff.
Burks replaced by fullback Joe Kerridge on kick coverage.
Here comes Derek Carr and the Oakland offense. Jordy Nelson is one of his receivers.
Greer Martini will start for Oren Burks.
Carr goes deep on Jaire Alexander. Welcome to the NFL, rookie. Carr to Amari Cooper for 49 yards.
The corners are Tramon and Alexander.
