Hello everyone, welcome to Lambeau Field where it's a beautiful afternoon for the Packers-Cowboys game today.
I'll be here all game long to answer your questions, provide insight and hit you up with timely statistics.
You could not have asked for a prettier October day than today. I will give you the weather update when it's provided, but trust me, it's warm, breezy and very pleasant. Weather will not be a factor.
I think Bob covered much of what I've said on here before. Rodgers has become too enamored with throwing outside of the pocket, he hasn't taken the easy throws in front of him and he hasn't trusted his receivers. I don't think it's much more complicated than that.
Well, let's use this game to judge whether he's crazy or not. More than usual, Thompson has been correct with the players he's kept and let go, but no question he's up for second-guessing today. I still don't get allowing a QB you like to get away, but I think McCarthy can get away throwing the ball a lot today against the Cowboys.
It's just the way these things go. I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to them. It could be a certain surface gives more than another or it could be pure chance. Most of the time it's chance.
I think there's an issue with coaching him. I think he's gotten to the point where he probably doesn't take coaching as well as he once did. Clearly, they're not being very hard on him or they wouldn't tolerate some of his back foot throws. But Favre did the same thing. It's hard to tell a star quarterback that what he's doing is wrong and even if you do tell them, are they going to change?
I just thought that with Lacy banged up, no Starks and the possibility of them being without their top three corners, they were in trouble. I also don't think the defense has faced a line or back like Dallas has.
No, I think he truly believes that. I think he really does tend not to throw to younger guys who don't run the right routes or drop the ball. Some of it I can understand, but I think that trust thing has gotten out of control. Throw it if they're open.
Or get the ankle rolled and he goes out in the first quarter.
Maybe. They only did it for the first series. Then they went back to more no huddle. McCarthy hinted that they would be going back to the substituting style, but we'll have to see.
I think we might see him use that defense where Morgan Burnett comes up and plays linebacker. It would allow him to stack the box a little, keep an eye on Prescott and still depend three-receiver sets.
I think he'll start with Lacy and see what he can get out of him. I don't think he'll overuse him, but he really needs to establish the run early. There's no play-action if you don't run it early.
I disagree. There's enough talent to get open. You don't need speed burners all the time.
National anthem, hang on.
That's the idea, that's for sure.
Get off the ledge. It's not worth being there over a football game.
You mean like the Thanksgiving night game last year?
Captains are Burnett, Rodgers and Montgomery.
