That's a much more Rodgers-esque pass than we've seen in a long time. Rodgers held firm in the pocket and waited for Adams to clear across the middle.
Five plays, 79 yards, 2:54. PACKERS 17, 49ERS 7.
Rodgers appears to be having a field day against the 49ers safeties. I'm not sure what McCarthy did with the offense this week, but he must have changed some tendencies. The 49ers have had three big busted coverages.
Rodgers is 5 of 7 for 155 yards, 153.3 rating.
Seems pretty loud from what I can tell.
As the replay showed, the pass protection is outstanding and Rodgers is staying put. He's not so fast to bust out of the pocket. Smart.
Who said they had the over????
Somebody has to be over the top on that deep ball to Goodwin. I can't imagine they expected Martinez to cover Goodwin the whole way.
I just have to think that was on Brice. I saw what HHCD did and it looked like he took the deepest guy on his side..
Very strange looking coverage.
Montgomery is going to have another long return called back because of penalty.
Back to that deep ball, it sure looked like a Cover 3 with the two safeties outside and Martinez in the deep middle. That would be extremely unusual, but Pettine blitzed a cornerback and it's hard to say how that was supposed to shake out.
I'm not positive it was on him. Why was Martinez in the deep middle? Brice was on the side in which King blitzed and I'm guessing he was responsible for the receiver there. Very strange.
I think it was scheme on that play. Pettine seemed like he was getting too fancy with that blitz.
The 49ers are really selling out to play the run and Rodgers is having a lot of success with those bootlegs and play-fakes.
Clinton-Dix covered the receiver on the opposite side, which tells me Brice might have had the same assignment. But until I see it again, I don't know.
