Just as a matter of official record the Eagles still have a timeout left, so McCarthy's timeout didn't matter.
The Eagles could have called timeout when McCarthy did and still have one left.
It's his first game back from a six-week absence due to groin surgery. Give the guy a break.
Hardly any of these guys who come back from lengthy injuries are as good as they'll be the second or third week back.
Packers kneel it down and that's the half.
I was a bit surprised not to see him in the first half. I knew Starks would get the start and the bulk of the carries, but for Michael to not be involved at all was not what I expected.
You think this defense can hold the Eagles to 14 or less in the second half?
Haven't seen this in a while. Pleasing sign for McCarthy I'm sure.
Well then. I guess he's mostly right. Aside from the Peppers hit and Daniels sack there hasn't been much. Wentz has had mostly clean pockets.
What does that even mean?!
Booked, Casey. Thanks for stopping by ;)
My guess is McCarthy wanted to see if Montgomery could generate a decent return. If he brings it out to the 35 or 40, then you've got a whole different approach.
Datone is playing, yes. He's cooled off big time the last few weeks.
Also why McCarthy called TOs. Very astute.
I don't think so. He's really tall and doesn't have the weight to play guard. He struggles to hit 300 pounds. Contrast that with Mr. Sitton, who played around 317 or 318.
1) Health 2) Confidence 3) Releases off the line of scrimmage 4) Less attention on him because of Nelson/Cook
I don't think any Packers' tailback has had five straight carries this year. I remember Lacy getting four carries in a row before he got hurt.
My colleague Bob McGinn wrote about this in his scouting report. Wentz is pretty athletic for a big guy but he hasn't run much this year. We're seeing his escapeability quite often today.
That depends more on the market than the Packers, in my opinion. If another team offers Lacy a bigger deal, Lacy probably leaves. If the market is sour on Lacy because of the injury and his weight, then the Packers might bring him back with a short "show-me" deal like the one they gave Nick Perry and Jared Cook.
I went home for Thanksgiving!
