Pack make a play for Ahmad Brooks? Played his whole career at outside backer in 3-4, still had a good season last year at 33. With Perry injury and lack of depth, they should kick the tires at least.

He's not a classic 3-4 outside linebacker. He was really good for a long time, but he's 32 and the 49ers stink, so there has to be a reason they cut him. But it's worth keeping an eye on.

Hundley just doesn't look comfortable. His numbers have been good but I've felt he hasn't been very consistent this entire preseason.

Tom, when the NFL goes to full-time refs, do you know if they going to just give the option to current refs to become full-time, or if they will make everyone apply for the new position? It would be nice to weed out the Triplettes in the process.

It would, but I don't know what the process will be. Some refs won't continue because their other careers bring in too much money.

This is a big concern with this defense. They're not very big when Matthews and Perry are out of the game.

Looking at the replay of that fourth down stuff, the guy who made that happen was Mike Daniels. He caved in the right side of the Broncos OL and Joe Thomas had a clear run at Anderson.
