It's going to be tough, especially with Wilson's ability to run zone-read. But Seattle's OL is a big question mark, so we'll see.
Mays definitely has a chance to make it. He really flashed in the last game. But it all comes down to numbers at other positions.
I think he'll be on the 53. He won't be ready to play until October is my guess.
I think Hundley has more talent than Tolzien. But from a production standpoint, I don't know. Hundley hasn't gotten an opportunity to play in regular season games, Tolzien has. So it's hard to say.
Personnel people deal more in upside. They look at a guy's athletic ability and whether he has made gains during camp. Sometimes the gains haven't been enough to earn a spot, but they're enough to say the guy has a chance. Someone with great size and speed who is performing at a slightly lower level than someone else probably has better upside. But other factors weigh in like intelligence, hand-eye coordination, football savvy, etc...
They are based on last season's records in inverse order.
Yeah, I saw that. But makes you wonder why he got cut. There's usually a performance reason.
Just got word from Michael Cohen that ILB Cody Heiman has been released.
Geez, I signed myself off.
By the way, we're at 1,044!!
No question. They have a ton of input. But ultimately the decision is Ted's.
The way it works is that everyone submits whatever claims they want and they put a priority on them. So, first the NFL looks at all the claims and then awards the player to the team with the worst record from last year. Then it checks to see if there are priorities on the claims. Priorities are made if teams don't want to claim multiple players. So, say the Packers only want to claim one player but they made multiple claims. They'll list them in order of which one they want first, second, third, etc... So all claims have to be made by tomorrow and then the league sorts them out.
I just found out that OG Geoff Gray has been released. There's a possibility he'll return on the practice squad.
Waters will be released at some point, then they'll assess him later in the year. But Brown is probably a better prospect. He's healthy for one thing.
Only if you sign them from someone's practice squad. Then you have to keep them a minimum of three weeks, I believe it is.
The blog tool gives me a running total. We're at 1,157 right now.
