Very good point. But Price almost got signed off the practice squad last year. He stayed only after the Packers bumped up his salary. They need another nose tackle. If they can find a way to keep both, I'm sure they will. Ringo played well in training camp, but they've got to have someone to help stop the run.
Everybody misses on a pick. It just happens. If you do it too often, then you'll get fired. But the Packers rarely fire their scouts.
Why not? I'm not really sure you ever want to take Aaron Rodgers off the field, but who's to say you can't throw a new wrinkle in every once in awhile.
No, he's healthy. He did not have a good training camp. He played better Thursday night but it was against backups. There's concern there. But he's also just in his second year. So they're trying to be patient.
Maybe DL. You're always on the lookout for D-linemen.
I don't think that's the main reason. I think the main reason is that he's a really good punter. His hang times are fantastic. For a rookie, he's been pretty good. Most punters aren't NFL worthy until bouncing around the league for a year or two.
The Packers are cutting QB Joe Callahan, according to a source. There is interest in him returning to the practice squad.
That would seem to indicate Hill has a chance to make it.
A little bit. They'll announce them all at once, but guys find out about it at different times, so there is some truth to what you say.
They could. It wouldn't make a ton of sense, but they could.
He'll play. Matthews and Perry aren't going to play every play. Plus, I can see Matthews getting more snaps inside now. Getting all three of those guys on the field at the same time is something I'm sure Capers would love to do.
It's something the club is probably debating as we speak. He did play well in camp.
I think that's mostly the off-season.
No. They do not mandate it. All the other teams find out what the cuts are once the league processes it all, but they don't have to release it to the public at 3 p.m.
Mostly their underlings do the trade talks. The GMs just approve or reject it.
Not that I'm aware of. He has not been charged as of now, so it really comes down to that.
No, they become official at 3 p.m. when they are submitted to the NFL office.
