Welcome everybody, the blog is back!
It's been nearly five months since we've gathered and it seems like it's only been four months and three weeks, that's how fast it's gone.
It's 67 degrees here in Green Bay and the piles of snow still aren't gone, but yet we carry on.
Indeed, I think the Packers will do something.
I don't think we'll see a run on anything in the early going. I think we kind of know who is going to be taken in the first dozen picks. It's just a matter of where they go and what order. Trades are definitely going to affect the round.
Running back is pretty good, tight end isn't bad, there are some quality interior linemen and there is speed at corner.
Probably. It seems like it happened with Laremy Tunsil.
I keep thinking Dorsey is going to pick Barkley first so he can get a QB and a RB in the first round. Let someone else try to figure out who the best QB is. It's a toss-up.
I think Griffin would be a special teams demon, the Packers would love to have. But you don't want to overdraft him. He would be an inspirational player in their locker room and they have enough picks to make that happen. Oliver is a big corner with average speed. I think the Packers will be looking for some blazers in this draft.
Yes, if it were me, I'd want a pass rusher first. But you can't overdraft those guys. There aren't any other than Chubb worth taking in the top 14. As the draft goes on, they need to address the pass rush, no question.
That last answer was for the last question I posted.
Ridley is a possibility. He's definitely in play. But I think they consider taking a tackle there, too. If McGlinchey is there, they have to consider it. Trading back has to make sense. They have to get a second or a mid-to-high third for it to be worthwhile. They're going to possibly want to get to the top of the round at the second and more picks would allow that.
Derwin James, Denzel Ward, Roquan Smith, Tremaine Edmunds, maybe Minkah Fitzpatrick. The others are probably too expensive for the Packers.
I'm not sure the fans matter in this whole thing. They know far less about the draft than anyone in the draft room, so I wouldn't be worrying too much about that.
I don't think my knowledge goes that deep. There are names I can give you, but I can't say I'd know they'd be better than anyone else. I just know there are some big athletic guys they'll have a chance to grab.
I would say they're going to attempt to move up to get one of the DBs, but I don't know what their threshold is for what they'll give up. I think there's a better chance they move up than move down.
The scuttlebutt is that the Packers brass are in the draft room and they're going to pick someone. I can't tell you much more than that.
I think it was natural to ask him for a pay cut or a restructure. I don't know the specifics. I just saw the report. It's possible they wanted to turn some of his money into incentives knowing that he might not be ready for the season. I think with their cap situation that's expected. Regardless of that, they're going to address the offensive line whether it's early, middle or late. They have to address the right side.
Of course you know, I have no preference what they do, I just wait and watch. But if you're asking me which position is more important, I'm one who always sides with pass rush. No corner can cover forever.
