Dropped passes were an issue. We'll see what the Packers' scout says about that.
I'm going to head downstairs so I can transcribe the comments from the Packers on the pick.
As someone correctly noted, Moore ran 4.6 at the combine and 4.49 at his pro day.
I could see Gutekunst doubling up on WRs.
Packers are two picks away from their next selection, first in the fifth round.
I would have normally said Cichy, but I think with the selection of Burks, probably not.
One more pick before the Packers choose at the top of the 5th.
There goes Dalton Schultz off the board.
Packers take T Cole Madison.
Madison has been a four-year starter, 47 games total.
Jon Eric-Sulllivan is here.
JES: I think he plays closer to his pro day. He can close space. We were not concerned with his play speed at all.
JES on drops: When you watch him drop, he's pretty ggood after the catch. A lot of times he gets antsy. Did not see a guy who struggled to pick it up. More of a concentration thing. Really good athlete, 6-2, long arms, really good body control. Can make people miss.
JES: We let the board talk to us. Board was holding strong and were sitting where we wanted to take them.
JES: Cole can probably play inside. He'll probably start out at guard.
JES: We like that he played tackle. He's a big man. He's got good instincts. They're in a pass-happy offense. Has some position versatility.
JES: I think thought process is if you can play on edge, tackle, you have to have feet out there. We like taking tackles if we can.
JES on Missouri offense: No problems picking up offense. Football is very important to him.
JES: Way he's built, tall, long arms, has knack for making first guy miss. Pretty aggressive after the catch. He often makes his first move before he gets the ball. It takes a special skill set to do that.
JES on Moore: I was surprised he only ran 4.9.
JES: He's been very productive in a very competitive conference. He was right on the brink of 1,000 yards. Had 18 touchdown over past two seasons. He was a guy we liked all along.
Sam Seale to talk about Madison:
Sam Seale: We like his versatility. Don't know if Madison is a guard or tackle. I just liked his versatility and from watchingg film, he played all across the line of scrimmage. I think that's a benefit for him.
JES: I look for the length and his strength. The kid is competitive. For a guard you need a mean person. He's mean. He can hunker down and close down the middle.
