J'Mon Moore, Daurice Fountain, Deon Cain, Tre'Quan Smith, Equaniemeous St. Brown.
That's his strength. He's a 4.4 guy.
Ravens take Mark Andrews, second tight end for them.
Packers have moved up and they're taking LB Oren Burks.
Here's what I wrote about Burks early last week:
ILB Oren Burks, Vanderbilt, 6-3, 233 (4.59, 39 ½, 18) Started out as a free safety, then played a rover position and then finished as an inside linebacker. He played all over the field at Vanderbilt and had 82 tackles, including seven for loss and a sack as a senior. Another player wiwth speed and long arms who should be able to function in various roles. Projected: 3rd day.
Oren Burks is that intelligent player Pettine needs to run his defense. He'll probably be a dime ILB. Used to play safety. 4.59 speed.
Packers gave up No. 101 and No. 147 to move into the third-round.
Packers scout John Witkowski will be down to talk to us in a minute.
They sent a fourth and a fifth for the pick.
John Witkowski on Burks: Pretty versatile. Very well-rounded individual. Started at safety, went to outside linebacker and then moved inside.
JW: We do think he can help with coverage. We like his versatility. We think with some of hte packages coach Pettine has he can help us (in pass rush).
JW: From out standpoint, he's athletic. He'll be able to cover the field side to side.
JW: What we liked the most, his acceleration to the ball. His toughness for being new to the position.
JW: His visit cemented what we were thinking about him. Everything you picture a Vanderbilt athlete to be.
JW: You could see him match man-to-man with tight ends. The skill set is there.
Taller, much longer wingspan, not as compactly built.
And when he's well known, he's the bomb.
I'm not sure how anyone can argue with them taking three defensive picks after the performance of their defense last year. I'm quite puzzled by that.
Here's Oren Burks on conference call:
OB: I feel really comfortable off the ball. I feel like my game gotten taken to the next level. I was able to run sideline to sideline. I'm excited about the next chapter.
