Edge rusher, but there weren't that many to begin with, so it's a matter of picking the higher rated guy.
Yeah, but they've gotten some really good players in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds.
I should say good players in terms of cheap ones who have contributed in really good ways. Not Pro Bowl guys, but guys you need to fill your roster.
Janis, Ripkowski, Sam Barrington, Ryan Taylor, James Starks, Matt Flynn, Mason Crosby, Desmond Bishop, Johnny Jolly, Mike Montgomeryh, Scott Wells, Corey Williams, Mark Tauscher, Driver, Hasselbeck, Timmerman....
You go to the fifth and it's better: Levens, Kabeer, Kampman, Hyde, Linsley, Aaron Jones
Off the top of my head, no. But there will be some guys let loose, you can take it to the bank.
They're not the guys who start. The guys who start have to be your Kenny Clarks, Blake Martinez, Jason Spriggs, Kevin King, JHosh Jones, Montravius Adams, Aaron Jones, etc....
I would say that's what they're doing with the two corners. And a good number of starters should come from that '17 class, which I think could wind up being one of Thompson's best. They need Fackrell and Spriggs to step up. Those are two key guys.
It is, no question, but a rookie who had more 20-yard runs per carry than the NFL offensive rookie of the year is someone with a lot of potential/.
I think it was natural for them to ask for a pay cut. That surprises me not at all. They may have wanted to turn his money into incentives. I don't blame him for refusing. He got hurt playing the game. He deserves any money he can get. I wouldn't write him off yet. I just don't know how many more good years he has left. He's been very, very good when healthy.
Every draft guy has a sweet spot. Thompson's was linebackers and Wolf's was quarterbacks. I'd have to say Thompson's weakness was corners and defensive linemen.
Yes. But he was about as big as a corner.
Where do you get that Jones has two bad knees?
That's up to him. He needs to have a huge year in the weight room and stop acting like a knucklehead. He can fly, no question about that, but he hasn't been trustworthy enough to get playing time.
I don't have those numbers, but it's probably close to a dozen. Gutekunst will fill some spots after the draft.
He's a good No. 4, I think. They need someone more athletic than him. But he can have a role.
